Marbled paper is an incredible art form that has since been lost to digital methods, are unique like fingerprints, in that no two pieces are exactly the same. This video covers the ancient technique of Marbling. The method is used for creating designs on paper and originated from Japan all the way from the 12th century. It was later improved upon by the Turks and Ottoman empire. The paper was primarily used for covering books but had many uses including covering lamp shades or wrapping gifts.
