This is the 3rd in a series of 3 videos featuring part of a lecture by Alan Watts and animated by Trey Parker and Matt Stone of South Park fame.

This is the best of the 3 videos that were made in my opinion! Absolute truth spoken by Alan Watts. In this video Watts discusses how life is not something to be worked, but rather played, like a musical instrument. We live our lives as if they are a very important journey with a definitive ending that must be carefully prepared for, but Watts argues that our lives should be treated more as a musical composition, with lifts, drops, and improvised beauty in between.

Live in the moment friends, it is one of the most important lessons you will learn in life.

“We thought of life by analogy with a journey, a pilgrimage, which had a serious purpose at the end, and the thing was to get to that end, success or whatever it is, maybe heaven after you’re dead. But we missed the point the whole way along. It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing or to dance while the music was being played.”
